After two days of sending innocent trainers back to the Pokèmon Center alone, the group of trainers was beginning to get discouraged. Still, they knew that they had to keep going.
“Every challenge along the way, with courage I will face,” muttered Windward as they walked.
“What are you singing?” asked Gorta.
“Just a lullaby I used to hear when I was younger,” said Windward.
“We don’t have time to sing,” said YouButWorse. “We have to keep trying to figure out who the Team Plasma members among us are. And I think I know who one of them is.”
“Who is that?” asked Arctic.
“Kiro!” said YouButWorse. “He said he would give Cloned some Max Potions, so that he could keep his Rattata healthy. But today Cloned was gone!”
“Maybe he was attacked by a trainer with really strong Pokèmon,” said Kiro. “That must be why the potions didn’t work.”
“No, I think YouButWorse is right,” said Arctic. “Kiro, we’re sending you back to Viridian City!”
“Fine, maybe I am a member of Team Plasma,” said Kiro. “But what’s your point? All Team Plasma wants is to liberate everyone’s Pokèmon so that we can take control and usher in a new future! It might not have worked in Unova, but it will work here.”
“Our Pokèmon are our friends!” said one of the others.
“But what should we do about them?” asked one of the people in the group. “Kiro’s clearly broken Pokèmon League regulations, but I don’t know if there’s anything we can do about it until we can get to a Pokèmon Center and speak to a representative…”
“We’re closer to the end than the beginning, now,” said one of them. “Let’s have someone else hold onto Kiro’s Jigglypuff until we get to the end, and we can turn her in there. In the mean time, we’ll keep an eye on Kiro.”
“But if you do that, you’re stealing my Pokèmon!” said Kiro. “Hypocrites – you condemn Team Plasma for liberating Pokèmon, only to do the same thing.”
“…No,” said one of them. “You literally tried to break League regulations and sabotage the rest of us. It’s not the same thing at all.”

“I think I see them,” whispered Windward to her eevee.
The eevee made a happy sound, rubbing its head against her leg as if it were a cat.
“Shhh,” said Windward. “We need to be quiet if we’re going to follow them.”
Windward and her eevee silently followed the hooded figure as they walked down a side path in the cave. Eventually they reached the very end of the path.
The hooded figure took off their hood, revealing their face. Windward’s eyes widened. “So it’s you!” she said.
The now-unhooded figure smiled. “Yes, Windward. But sadly, you’re not going to get the chance to tell the rest of your friends.”
