TKs are normally countered by not being able to confirm themselves.
Okay I see that’s a bit complicated, since supports are even less confirmable in FoL.
uuuh
all classes shouldn’t be able to confirm themselves
confirmability is bad
Social classes are made for being confirmable tho
Also, uhhhh I made a mistake
I hope Vulgard won’t get locked as lost wolf, just because I don’t know what a lost wolf is.
How did I end up not getting mislynched like always, btw? Did I do something right?
You so blatantly acted in a way that was anti-wincon to scum that you got cleared
Yeah I know, I was thinking about that as I claimed Butler about 30 seconds after anti-claim mechanic got revealed. “They’ll think that scum wouldn’t be so idiotic”
… so yeah, it was an intentional townslip.
I just wish I’d have anger management myself, I’m still extremely pissed about this, since I realized it… uhhh I go and try to calm down.
Ugh, this is probably the last closed FoL I ever host tbh.
I’m tired of people going all like “OMG THIS GAME IS BASTARD”, “ALICE SHIT HOST”, “WHY CAN’T I SOLVE THIS WITH CLAIMS” and whatnot because they can’t understand that in Closed setups you can’t expect what the wolfteam will throw at you and that claiming in them is purely counter-productive.
Alice, you are a good host.
Thanks, Priestess.
It’s just draining how a lot of people have been privately complaining to me that they can’t PoE people mechanically or that they can’t claim because of the restrictions. Like, the entire point of a setup like this is to put pressure and uncertainty on BD and makes the game more paranoid.
Oof, how many people did that?
A few, but I don’t want want to dwell in on that.
Like, you can still use investigative checks and whatnot and healers to prevent kills, but it’s not like you can clear something like an Obs claim in an Unseen game or clear the Phys from being the NK because they are Soc/Supp as you have no idea what the scumteam has.
It’s kind of understandable why many people like FK and Astand have stopped playing FoLs as a lot of people here are playing it like ToL where it’s 95%+ mechanics rather than how FoL should be played which is with a hybrid of reads and mechanics.
But that’s kinda the point of FoL. We could play FM instead if we wouldn’t love the mechanics of tol
Like, in this case here’s what happened.
Luxy tried jailing Solic. Jake used a day action that causes all day actions to be reflected on his target, which was Solic. This is how Luxy jailed himself. It’s not bastard and it’s perfectly valid as using the old Bewilder on outed Prince to stop their jailing or on an outed Hunter to make them bleed themselves.
Then Marshall used a Frenzy on Luxy as the scumteam read him as the Prince which bypassed the jail protection. For them to claim the game is bastard because they have no idea why Luxy died after jailing himself is just… frustrating.
FM’s like 80%+ reads depending on the setup. Mountainous setups are 100% reads while stuff like 6d6 and Cop 13’er are 80%~90% based on reads.
FoL is supposed to be something like 50-50 which is why the EFoL1 changes were put in place as it was making the game rely only on mechanics.
Yeah I see, it’s just a moderror then, not bastard. Since you cannot jail yourself, under any circumstances, ever.
Not really. It’s been often done in the past with Dark Rune/Bewilder. This doesn’t happen in ToL as there’s no day redirect there.
This wouldn’t happen in tol, because there are intentionally multiple failsaves. You cannot be occed/redirected. You cannot be bypassed occed/redirected. You are simply… immune.
Yeah, FoL has some completely stupid rules which make no sense at all, not your fault. Just the oversight of people who try to copy the classcards of tol, while not understanding the game at all.
Btw I thought I was able to silence the prince in fol 20, because Silence is no occupation.
As I signed up, I just thought you would make a scumfaction with unknown abilities, so we can’t scumread per mechanics… not with completely strange abilities which would mess up like everything. I kinda thought Omega Actions are like the stronger abilities of Unseen, aka something like a 1-time Frenzy and such. Or having a claimvig or something like that. Or they could be messing with the scum faction itself. Not… changing the rules.
Also, not knowing if there are NKs or neuts, and if scum has conversion or not… led kinda to people automatically assuming the game would have all this. Cause… well its a SFoL, and FoL is standard, if not specified differently.
the point is that you’re not supposed to claim in huge games early on because the number of variables is high enough that the villagers could possibly just win with only a few reads if they massclaimed D1. So an anti-claim prevents that
