The Lying Darkness :shield: :crossed_swords:

image
In Rokugan, name and history is everything. A samurai is defined by their family and clan. Their deeds only matter in the context of how they effect those ideals. The Lying Darkness strips all that away, leaving the samurai with nothing.
Neutral Killer
“Seven Thunders entered the Shadowlands. One returned.”
Named, not Tamed (Passive) - At the start of the game, it will be publicly informed that “Akodo is watching your every step, from all clans alike”.
Faceless (Passive) - You will appear as a member of the uninformed majority (random class of that faction from the GI thread) to investigative checks from the uninformed majority. You will appear as an informed minority lost wolf (random class of that faction from the GI thread with a lost wolf modifier) to investigative checks from the informed minority/informed minorities.
Shadow Corruption (Passive) - You know the effects of the Shadow Corruption, who is Shadow Corrupted and the degree of Shadow Corruption they possess at all times. The Shadow Corruption has three degrees. If someone already has the Shadow Corruption, they will gain a new degree every time an even day starts.
In the first degree, nothing happens. In the second degree, all abilities and passives they have will be disabled. In the third degree, they will die, their flip will be cleaned, and they will be prevented from joining the Dead Chat. You will be given their original rolecard, and any further rolecards they had throughout the game (if they were converted, for instance).
Aditionally, you are immune to the Shadow Corruption. Finally, if someone claims at least one of the following: flavor, class type, role type, ability/abilities; they will be Corrupted automatically.
The only people informed of being Corrupted are the ones who start the game Corrupted.
Dangerous Deal (Day) - Make an offer to a player. “Darkness wants to embrace you. If you accept, you will be [effect]. Be careful, though, that dealing with the Nothing is dangerous business. You have 24 hours to decide if you accept it or not. Do you accept?”
The following effects are disponible. Choose one to offer:
-Immune to attacks tonight
-Cleaned from all Bleeding
-Given an alignment peek
-Given a gun
-Aware from all feedback on you for the remainder of the day.
-Shown as a member of the uninformed majority to all checks tonight.
You will know whether they accepted, refused or did not answer to the request. If they accept, they will gain the benefit and one degree of the Shadow Corruption. If they refuse, they will not gain the benefit and the Shadow Corruption. If they don’t answer, they will not gain the benefit and will gain one degree of the Shadow Corruption.
If someone already has a degree of Corruption, you may give them more than one benefit in any subsequent Dangerous Deals. You can’t target anyone who is immune to the Corruption with this ability.
Direct Elimination (Night) - Select a player to kill. You can choose between one of the following effects: You can’t be seen by any trackers or watchers tonight, you will be bulletproof tonight, you can’t be roleblocked or redirected tonight, the target of the kill can’t be healed or protected tonight.
If they have claimed flavor, class type, role type, or ability/abilities, you can choose two effects instead of one.
Win Conditions: Only one of those need to be completed.
- All players are dead.
- All players but you are dead.
- All alive players possess the Shadow Corruption.
- All alive players but you possess the Shadow Corruption.
- Half of the game (rounded up) has claimed at least one of the following: flavor, class type, role type, ability/abilities.
When you win, everyone else loses, regardless if they have already completed their win condition. The game won’t end if you are still alive. You can win even if you are dead.

The Arbiter :shield: :crossed_swords:

Hand of Byzantium Special

Battle-Tested (Passive) - If you spawn, the informed minority will be known as the Hand of Byzantium. You are immune to every possible form of death except a lynch or a Duke execution, including all attacks that bypass immunity. You are also occupation and redirection immune and keep this part of the passive if your class changes even if you become the Champion or become elected as a Purified King.

Inside Seclusion (Passive) - You will appear as a class of your choice which you can inform the host at the start of the game or when you are promoted to the Arbiter which you would like for to investigators. This class can be any class in the game, even any Prestige class. You are fully immune to all investigative abilities for the entire game (or entire rest of the game if you are the second Arbiter), comprehensively, and will always appear as your desired class to investigators. Additionally, each night you may submit which players you appear to visit; you will appear to visit those players to any abilities that detect visits. If you do not submit players you appear to visit, you will appear to visit your actual target(s), if any. You may choose one day ability from any class in the game besides the Duke, Warden, Marshal, Agent, or any Blue Dragon classes to add to your classcard, either at the start of the game for the first Arbiter or when you become the Arbiter for the second. Additionally, if you are the original Arbiter and die, if and ONLY IF the current Champion is the original Champion or was promoted from a Socialite, they will become the new Arbiter. The only exception to this is a Socialite who will automatically become the new Arbiter before the original Champion and the Magistrate who will take the highest level of priority of all if they utilized a one-shot day ability and the Arbiter is lynched later during that same day. Otherwise, there will not be a second Arbiter, and there can never be a third Arbiter.

Imperial Urgency (Day) - Become the Champion at the start of the night; if there is a current Champion, if they are the original Champion or they were promoted from a Socialite, they will become the new Arbiter; if not, they will become their convert class again. Cannot be used before day 4. - One use

Entrust (Night) - Convince someone to join the Hand of Byzantium. - Infinite uses, One night cooldown

The Algorithm

Town Investigative

Copypasta(Passive) - Each day, you can ping a player and post the following at them

Summary

You don’t even understand who the fuck you’re dealing with. I have advanced degrees in statistics
and computer science and I’ve created a simple program with an advanced algorithm that I’ve been working on for years. I have read and tracked over 600 forum mafia games, recording every fencesit, every association, every scumtell. I have over 50 documented, specific forms and versions of scumtells and towntells, and at this point I can just skim a thread and put it into my machine. I have reduced the cacophonous lies of forum mafia into a pure, beautiful mathematical formula, and it’s led me to literal hundreds of wins.
Why do I think you’re scum? I don’t deign to think about you myself. Instead, I thought about how to create a program to know mathematically whether you are scum. I don’t need to think about you, because my algorithm has determined that you are scum to an 87% certainty. You cannot beat those numbers at this stage in the game. We’re talking about a mere 13% chance that you are a town member so monumentally bad at this game that you fooled a computer program that has successfully identified over 500 unique mafia players as scum with over 96% accuracy. Your only defense, in other words, is that you are so naturally scummy that you’re an outlier.
Whether you’re town or mafia, this is a message from mathematics – you are bad at this game. You have played so scummy that a perfectly objective process has labeled you as scum. Whether that makes you bad at playing your specific rolecard or bad in general, there is no question that behaving like scum means you have not performed well. Consider this a welcome wakeup call, as hundreds have before you: If a player decides you’re scum, it’s possible you just got unlucky, but if a computer program can be that certain of your alignment, there are some serious holes in your game, because it means you’re scum in an objective sense, rather than a subjective one. For that reason, I’m willing to roll that die and take that 13% risk, because even if there’s a small chance you might be town, there’s not even a remote chance that you’re good.

You will learn that players alignment with 87% accuracy

win the game
