Abyss?

The main addition to this Special Forum of Lies is a new scum faction. The Abyss.

These twisted mind flayers have risen from the shadowy depths and seek to claim Adiart for their own vile purposes. Our scouts have displayed an abnormal fear upon witnessing such creatures…

Bending the minds of mortal men and slaying our kind without remorse… Some even whisper that they are trying to awaken some kind of Dark God that sleeps beneath the tides…

Their leader was dubbed ‘The Dreamer’ by one particularly… eccentric… scout. We have reports that he can steal the faces of the men he tortures… So… for all we know, any one of us could be one of these twisted creatures.

Rules

Gameplay

Days will be 3 IRL days long, or shorter if someone dies
Nights will be 1 IRL day long
Actions are done by messaging me
Scum will talk through a Forum PM. They may use alternative forms of communication, but need to add me to any.
Priest will speak with the dead through a separate Forum PM Chain
All classes will be used, and will be used as they are found in the Class Cards Thread
When you receive a card you will have 24 hours to reply, confirming you have received it

Executions

To accuse someone say “/accuse [player]” or “/vote [player]
Once a player reaches a majority of the accusations, they are instantly executed and the day ends.

Journals

Message me your entire journal, the last draft I receive before you die shall be the one displayed

To Join

To join, simply express interest in joining by saying something like “I want to join” or “/join” or “/in” or “sign me up, coach” or whatever you want

Abyss Special
Unearthly (Passive) - You are immune to occupation and target changing. You will be informed if someone attempts to occupy or redirect you.
Endless Dream (Passive) - If you die, all living blue dragon will become afraid. If you are killed at night then the starting Devout may take your place.
Facestealer (Day) - Choose a class. You will appear as this class to any investigations. This effect lasts until you use this ability again. - Infinite uses
Mind Rend (Night) - Convert a player into their Abyss counterpart. - Infinite Uses, 1 night cooldown.
Terror (Night) - Cause two players to become afraid. This does nothing on it’s own, but certain Abyss classes can benefit from fear. Fear lasts until it is removed. - Infinite uses
Your objective is to defeat the Blue Dragon and any neutrals that seek to do you harm.

The Devout

Abyss Killer
Fear Monger (Passive) - Whenever a player who is afraid dies, you generate 2 Terror Fragments. You are informed of how many terror fragments you have. After you die, you lose two terror fragments and all Terror Fragments you posses will be passed along to the next Devout.
Cycle of Madness (Passive) - If there is no Devout at any point, the next non-Dreamer Abyss in line will become The Devout. If there exist no other non-Dreamer Abyssians, the next successful convert will instead become The Devout.
He Awakens (Day) - Consume 20 Terror Fragments. Immediately end the game. Only Abyssians and neutrals who have already won will be victorious. - 1 use
Sacrifice (Night) - Kill a player. - Infinite uses
Empower (Night) - Consume 6 Terror Fragments. Kill two players. - Infinite uses.
Your objective is to defeat the Blue Dragon and any neutrals that seek to do you harm.

Visions of the Deep (Night) - If all living non-abyss players are afraid, you will change the King into an Eldritch King. - 1 use

Head of State (Passive) - Your vote counts as two if there are more than 5 players alive. Immune to occupation and redirection.
Grand Trial (Passive) - Instantly put a player on trial for treason. They may provide a defense, and then the players alive may either vote to execute or pardon. If a majority of players vote to execute, the day will end and the player on trial will be lynched. Otherwise, the day will continue as normal. - 1 use
Guard! (Night) - Choose a player. They will be immune to death tonight. - 3 uses
Fear (Night) - Make a player become afraid. - Infinite uses

If Merc rolls, this will be what it is

  • Royal Blood isn’t on any of the Abyss class cards. Why? Because Royal Blood will now pass on directly if you had it before you were converted!

  • Members of the Abyss CAN inflict other Abyssians with fear.

  • The Faction cap for the Abyss is 3

  • You aren’t notified if you are afraid. Only certain special investigative abilities can find that out.
