ooh hereâs something i wanted to do
@Vulgard how have you used these philosophies so far/how do u plan to use them
if you are alive as a villager past the midgame then the wolves kept you alive on purpose because you are not able to figure them out
think from the perspective of the wolves. they are not going to kill the players who are wrong
if you are right, you are the prime target for nightkills
so if you are alive late in the game as a villager and you still think your reads are correct
they are not correct
and you have wolves in your townreads 90% of the time
i will say that re-evaluating might not always work but itâs always better than not doing anything and continuing to tunnel villagers until the end of the game
if you re-evaluate, you have a chance to catch a wolf
if you donât, you just⌠donât
you guarantee yourself to lose the game after having tunneled villagers the whole game
obviously yes, donât throw the game
and yes, donât be inactive
but about throwing
donât be selfish
itâs actually bad for you as any alignment that isnât neutral. do the thing that benefits your team as a whole instead of doing the thing that only benefits you
you can fix it by doing those things and more: working with others instead of pursuing exclusively your own reads and tunneling, trying to help solve the game while being pushed as a villager instead of AtEing and getting mad, not doing anything rash while town is about to lose the game regardless of how much you believe in your impulsive idea , etc., etc.
basically, think bigger-picture at all times
unless youâre a neutral in which case all you think about is how to advance your agenda without dying (in most cases)
but if youâre town or groupscum, try to benefit your entire team instead of just yourself
thatâs how you win games
not by hero shooting people or tunneling
that works super rarely and if it does work itâs more frequently because of luck rather than anything else
selfish play really is tantamount to throwing in some cases and the idea that âyou must always keep yourself alive, kicking and prioritizedâ should die
even if you are a PR, itâs your team that has to win and you must work with it instead of rejecting everyone and doing your own thing with generally small chances of success
thereâs a ton of ways it manifests and i could point them out as specific examples but i feel like that would be a bit much
if somebody wants me to, i will
I think the issue is and the issue I personally have is I tend to do allot of Gut Reads.
On other sites play sometimes resolved around Strong Players only which I completely despise as a game shouldnât rely on a player and only that playerâs alignment wins.
My suggestion is to use a Method called âTown Deductionâ
Town Deduction and how it works:
Pretty much your looking for Town instead of Scum.
So instead of Scum Hunting your Town Hunting.
Itâs a type of PoE Method where you have your Town Reads on one side and Not Town Reads on the other side.
So the side that doesnât have your Town Reads are known as Your âLynch Optionsâ
Alternatively, anyone in that section of your PoE can be lynched.
Now moving on to the second part of the method.
Who to Lynch?
I know that some people Town read people that others donât really Town read.
Thatâs fine.
How to figure out a lynch is by â Town Control â
Now your probably wondering well WTF is âTown Controlâ itâs pretty much where Town Motivation becomes a key factor.
To figure out the lynch it resolved around these 4 things
The Case on each Individual
Information that can be gained upon the individual being lynched
Comparison Towards other Individuals that could be considered as Town or scum buddies with the Individual in Question
Resistance Towards an Individual in Question. An Individual that doesnât seem like itâs going to be Top Wagon. More or Less a Resistance that seems to effect the game state where that persons wagon doesnât get bigger and stays there or shortens despite not having any reason for it to no longer be pressured.
IMPORTANT REMINDER :
Voting someone whoâs easy to lynch (in everyoneâs non Town reads) or Sheeping the Best Player in the game wonât necessarily ensure a scum lynch so it is NEVER the Best Method as I have allot of experience with people doing that and itâs why I be a bit toxic at times.
@ChopChop
how have you been using this philosophy, and how do you plan to continue using it
