The Corsair & The Pirate

The Corsair

Blue Dragon Killer

Parry (Day) - Make your 1st target immune to your 2nd target’s attacks tonight. (3 uses)

Lunge (Night) - If target uses their 1st ability, attack them. Bypass everything. If they use their 2nd, you die instead. (1 use)

Reposte (Night) - If target uses their 2nd ability, attack them. Bypass everything. If they use their 1st, you die instead. (1 use)

It’s rock-paper-scissors. If the target takes no action, nothing will happen, except the Corsair loses the use of their ability.

The Pirate

Unseen Offensive

Pillage (Day) - Steal a single use of both of your target’s day abilities. (1 use)

Plunder (Night) - Steal a single use of both of your target’s night abilities. (1 use)

For example: If you pillage a Hunter, you no longer have the pillage ability. You have 1 use of Wolf, and the Hunter has 1 less use.

These abilities may not be realistic to ask for, since it depends strongly on how the game is programmed, and I believe it has been indicated that it’s not practical to implement.

Suiciding BD. Amazing

As for the unseen convert, either ability would instantly out the pirate.

Butler and Knight already suicide. Pirate outs only to a victim of his choice, so I don’t see the problem.

useless until mid or late game when a scum is certain
one use of everything means you screw up once and you live but kill a bd. that is bad.

a class that can have no abilities left after n1 is bad

like, really bad.

It’s like Hunter in that you aren’t supposed to use ability every night.

hunter gets 7 nights of night abilities

this gets one

it’s not a comparison

But Hunter is passive and most abilities are wasted, so they don’t actually count. Not so with Corsair.

Do let me know the next time a N2 Hunter mark kills anyone, thanks.

you mean n3? hunter can’t HM n2
this is why i don’t use HM’s before late game
It’s fact that hunter still gets 7 nights of abilities; it’s his choice when to use them.

Hunter has 7 nights of abilities while Corsair only has 2 …

BUT

5 of those ability uses are likely to be wasted by the Hunter. So it’s even.

i bet most corsair’s would act like yolo cs’ing knights

And completely misfire.

They aren’t more prone to misfire than Knights though.

But they have no other option if they want to act besides doing something which could misfire.
Knights do. Defend is always powerful.

Okay, I improved parry and gave it more uses:

Parry (Day) - Make your 1st target immune to your 2nd target’s attacks tonight. (3 uses)

The Pirate as a neutral chaos class similar to Inquisitor:

The Pirate

Neutral Special

Duel (Day) - Challenge a player to a game of rock-paper-scissors for up to 20 seconds, silencing them for the duration and preventing them from voting. They are shown a pop-up with 3 buttons: ROCK | PAPER | SCISSORS.

If you win, you deal an unstoppable attack to them tonight. If you lose, you commit suicide. In the event of a draw, nothing happens.

The first 2 moves you choose are entirely consumed and cannot be played again, but the third remaining one may be used infinite times.

You win by killing 3 players before any faction wins.

“Greater Purpose”: I think it would be interesting to see pirates team up with evils to deceive BD regarding what moves they have available, or whether they go solo and pretend to have ended a draw with a pirate themselves, or just yolo.
