my thought process was that by intentionally killing what was a null slot, scum would sow discord and have a reason to “find scum” within town. It just makes more sense for that to be a kill than a jump, since yesterday’s top wagon jumping would immediately throw out red flags. I think that scum is trying to use this red flag against us.

I’m under the same confusion as Coin. I get what you are saying, Eggplant, but it feels like you are thinking of this in the wrong direction. It’s like you are saying you already think a normal kill is more likely than a jump, so then Popcorn must be town. But what I’m wondering is how you would have read Popcorn without considering the night kill. Were you pretty convinced they were town D1? You voted for Cloud D1, so were you convinced that both wagons (Heart and Popcorn) were V/V?

Why are you changing your story? You weren’t looking for jumps, you were trying to scumread based on writing style.

Umm, I don’t think they are changing their story. I think it’s been quite obvious to most people that the examination of writing styles is to look for jumps. There was all that talk D1 about how the various writing styles and quirks were supposedly ways to prevent a jump to the slot or make it very difficult to maintain.

But this isn’t true; I believe that, just from EoD and the nightkill, there would be more motivation for scum to kill this null slot to sow chaos rather than scum!popcorn jumping IMO. So although I had a feeling going into N1 that popcorn was town, my current “read” of them as town is more related to their death
