But now I am familiar with what it is in specific situations
Which helps me to avoid it
Which is a really bad thing. Rules have to be clearly defined.
the nature of angleshooting makes it impossible to fully define in a way that applies to every possible case.
it is different depending on the situation, in which there are many.
I’ll shorten how Angleshooting works in my mind down to one sentence:
- If it’s not mentioned in the game thread, don’t use it.
The “angleshooting the host” part boils down to ‘stay in the spirit of the game’ by not trying to argue why a host does something.
And new, unprecedented kinds of situations can appear at any time.
This is the core of it
So angleshooting = what cheating is in ToL?
but there can never be a full definition, because there are different gray areas in different situations.
9/10 times yes
In many respects, yes.
the 1/10 times is where the ambiguity is
I’d say it’s more like 8/2, but okay.
You cannot punish for unwritten = unknown rules, that would be unjust, so~
It does happen in the ambiguous cases. It’s ultimately the discretion of the host.
It’s only popped up once in my games and I didn’t punsh for it.
Instead I just responded in such a way that they got 0 information out of it anyways
Which is a bad thing. The host shouldn’t be the one who determines it… that makes the rules of every match differently.
If it’s unwritten, it’s the host’s interpretation that trumps the players.
Well, that’s how things work now
