Vanilla Townies - Are they still despised?

Does that give merit to rolemadness then since it gives more buttons to press?

In What way do you measure objective ”goodnes” of game

Is it balanced?
Is it fun?

And you decided to measure it that way yourself?
Fun is subjective thing So you cant measure It that way

I can use history and data to measure balance.

Yes I can.
It’s called history and logic.

A game where due to mechanics the outed scum can potentially dodge several lynches in a row is not fun due to how it devalues social deduction as a whole, which is the foundation by which mafia thrives

I like pressing buttons even if their impact is meager. :man_shrugging:

How do you measure objective fun

Why did you decide that balanced game is objectivly better

Fair enough

because nobody likes losing a game based on bullshit coincidences?

I never decided that.
That’s why I put them both in the same post.

Fun/Balance are equal weighting in terms of importance

So if there was setup like that And everyone found it Good you would still say Its objectivly bad

I’d say the setup was terrible, the players made it fun.

So Who decided How you measure game objectivly

Yes
Who decided this

Again how do you measure fun

And you cant purely objectivly measure balance since big amount depends on players when you go by win/lose count

Everyone else said Its not terrible And Good Why is your opinion better

That is the fundamental of a game.
A game is fun, but should be balanced as to not disturb the fun by unnecessary randomness that devalues the accomplishments of the individual.

Your question was completely weighted toward me giving that answer. The act of asking me ‘why did you decide that balanced games are objectively better’ was inherently false because I never mentioned that beforehand. I put fun/balance on the same pedestal, so by divorcing balance from fun factor you completely miss the point of what I’m saying.

We can sure as hell try, and we do.
That’s why we don’t have many setups where 50% of the players at SoG are anti-town.

We are reaching hypotheticals, and it’s a given fact that having the game taken out of someone’s hands despite their accomplishments is not enjoyable. It may be fun to some but it completely devalues their effort.

If people found that fun then good for them.

I can’t in good faith see that as fun

So that is decided by you ot someone else Who said that right

No I asked How do you objectivly decide What is better And you gave me balance/fun

Balance doesnt have To be part of Good game And fun is subjective

So because by some some measures you decided to yourself you can say that your opinion is better that someone else’s opinion

And your question divorced fun from the equation therefore it misrepresents my stated opinion, ergo I will not answer it.

Do you enjoy putting in hours of effort just to lose to someone else who got more lucky? Is that legitimately interesting to you?
I know that you are trying to win this hypothetical game but the truth of the matter is that being taken advantage of is frustrating. It hurts people. And that’s what an unbalanced game can do to people.
