So if I go with the assumption that James is cleared, then … it still doesn’t make sense why Merc didn’t self-pres onto James?? But it does strongly suggest that someone on the James wagon is scum, because if someone not on the James wagon were scum they could have switched (all the people on the Merc wagon could plausibly have faked being convinced, at least convinced enough to unvote). So that would suggest there’s a scum in me/Hja/Datbird, which FMPOV means it has to be Hja, but I’m seriously having a hard time seeing Hja as scum here.

I’m seriously confused as to where my logic went wrong, but it has to be somewhere because nothing here is making sense.

…This is going to sound really stupid but I actually double-checked my rolecard just to make sure that I absolutely hadn’t somehow misread it and also failed to notice being in a scumchat, somehow. Like, if I were anyone else (obviously except the mafia) I’d think Arete scum made a fair amount of sense, but having seen my rolecard I know that’s not it.

James being scum is the only thing that makes sense to me but as Alice pointed out he’s mechanically clear. I know I must have made some error in reasoning somewhere but I don’t know where.
