it was pretty obvious that after leafia āsoftedā sheād end up fullclaiming sooner or later and get shit on
what iām trying to say is that marl was speaking as though he knew exactly this was going to happen but he didnāt care much about pushing it or trying to get a pelt, which is quite out of character for him

follow me into the world of nearly completely impossible theorycrafting for a moment. mental exercise
in the technically possible (but not necessarily plausible) world where leafia is actually the doctor, is it realistic that marl could have expected her to blow up anyway / is it possible that marls posts are particularly pressuring to leafia and as a result marl purposefully goaded her into a blowup? this would mean that leafia is actually 100% right on her reads of marshal + marl and it means that iām wrong on GGhana (which i refuse to admit).
again, 99% chance its not the reality we live in but since our lynch for today is locked in as leafia we may as well visit this alternate reality while things are calm

marl certainly has enough knowledge of leafiaās meta to see something like this coming from a mile away and i do think itās something heād be able to capitalise on if heās mafia and she isnāt

this presents him in the worst possible light if leafia were to flip village because heās implying that she is a wolf without actually having to get his hands dirty and commit to the push

the way heās pushing leafia looks as though heās not committing to the read so if things somehow turned around for leafia he isnāt stuck wolfreading her and doesnāt have to awkwardly backtrack because there wasnāt much committal in the first place
i think him continuing to do it after people saying it was probably wolfy makes him less likely to be a wolf
