In the past, the categories used were Top Town, Top Scum, and Most Improved.

in all honesty

I’m actually on the “no” side of things.

I think MVP systems can sometimes prioritze hero-playing

and if people strive to be the best, and not to win, then it’s not going to be helpful towards the community.

we reward good play post-game. We get our dopamine from being complemented post-game if we did that. But official MVP systems could lead people to be more inclined to not team-play and more self-play.

We could have awards like “best team player” or just a general “funniest moment”

but I am not in favor of official-sactioned town/scum MVPs

but as long as the reward is purely cookie points i’d hope most people wouldn’t play to be a hero just for that

Why not just have the best town performance be how positively they affected their faction

and, let’s be real, besides a “most improved” or “best team player” award, a lot of the times the MVPs will go to the vulgards and alices and eevees of the forums.

it’s not going to help someone improve because they strive for that sweet dopamine from getting MVP if they are against alice.

i do like the idea of “team player” being the literal name of the award, as it encourages people to vote those who were

Hold people accountable for being lazy

Most town losses can be chalked up to being complacent in sorting through PoEs

I have more thoughts but it’s 11 pm and I’m tired
