What was your first ToL game like?

Hey guys, I was wondering how we all started out in the game. Feel free to talk about your first ToL game, what you learned, what mistakes you made, etc.

My first game was as Unseen King. I couldn’t even bother looking at the wikia or anything of sort. I didn’t even realize that I was the Evil King before I was executed on D3. I only guarded myself and I did no talking in the day, I was incredibly confused haha. What I learned was how much communication and how much thinking actually goes in this game .

Physician. Converted to ritualist. Pleaded to Be sacrificed because it seemed cool.

Other then that, nothing much.

Still a very fun game For me though

I don’t remember my first game. But I do remember spending hours going over every class in the game before even buying it and then doing it again while in the lobby for the first game.

My habit of doing this was very helpful for Town of Salem too at first but backfired when I tried to get into Epic Mafia

Oh. I haven’t stopped. Every time I am playing the game I double check the class cards. Sometimes even when I’m NOT playing

Physician. I didn’t do too much besides heal unseen poisons. :stuck_out_tongue:

I do this with every game I play more than once. I can’t play a story based game without accidentally spoiling the whole thing before I can buy it. Please send help

On the plus side it makes the noob phase where you don’t know what anything does WAY less noticeable. Having ToL be like my 5th social deduction game helps too.

5th? Damn

It’s only my second

One Night Ultimate Werewolf, ToS, Secret Hitler, Epic Mafia were the first 4

Oh wait. Bang and Resistance. ToL was 7th

You could also count Coup and Masquerade and I’m sure there are other relevant games I am forgetting about.

I only played TOS before this…

Damn.

Sometimes I revisit it, but I usually don’t play again due to how boring it is compared to ToL.

Needless to say my first ToS game was WAY more cringe worthy than my first ToL game.

Interestingly enough my first ONUW game was pretty interesting and non-cringy but that was mostly because it was a simple setup and everyone in the room was a friend of mine

my first ToL game was an FoL game where I had literally no clue what was going on, being still a pathetic ToSer

I thought it was awesome tbh

Even though I got phy

I always find it hard to sympathize with Noobs who hop into these games without knowing all the interactions even though it’s a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

Wait I think empathize is the proper term rather than sympathize

Other genres of gameplay such as FPS and Fighting games are not so easy to optimize using this method (Though that hasn’t stopped me from trying)

First game was alch I believe. Not sure how it went though
