TOTAL LIES!, I remember just last week when you said something and nobody disagreed with you!
OK guys we need to all gather up and make a long detailed spreadsheet explaining how bunk this comment is here!

I praise you for the irony.
How about we just use this one as an example of something that no one disagrees with thus proving him wrong?
this isn’t really a balance change
That’s a paradox!
And since paradoxes are false…
wait what
Yes

I feel like it would help if we understood what you were aiming for. All we can say at the moment is ‘I don’t like this idea because I think X is better’ Whereas if we knew your goal with changes we can comment things like, ‘Oh yeah, I guess that could help’ or ‘I don’t think that’ll work because…’
Admittedly, you might get people disagree with goals but
I gave the example of when I did that with the Neut change.
People will just argue and say my goals or reasoning behind things are wrong.
Negative feedback will always be and look more prevalent due to the psychology of the mind both highlighting it more and there being a higher incentive to complain than praise.
I want to say that I feel like my voice has been heard on occasion and I appreciate that. Servant getting a day ability, Party bypassing occupy immunity, more potent Butler poison and Paladin’s Smite being nerfed were all ideas that I either backed or spearheaded.
There were also people defending the change (me included).
Reality of the internet and having a huge playerbase. You try to satisify the majority, but a minority will always be dissatisfied with a certain direction you take something in and will voice it. I think many people were overjoyed here that you added the Chronomancer for instance, but you cherrypicked one passive aggressive negative post to reply to instead of the overwhelming amount of positive posts.
I would advise you not to drown out the feedback, because of occasional nonconstructive negative feedback, but instead try and embrace it with more contextual explanations in the patch notes themselves. Saying something like, we envision a Nk’s winrate to be less than 17% and hence make this change to curb its power blabla in the patch notes themselves will, at the very least, yield more constructive discussion and give player’s more transparency in what you want for this game.
League of Legends patch notes do this quite well for instance.
Agreed, good post. I am generally happy with the changes. I feel like there are tweaks needed here and there, but usually the changes are good.
The game at the moment is the best it has ever been.
Note the existence of arguing even on this thread
I think there’s a difference between Debating the merits of things and trying to get your opinion across/lobbying and being argumentative.
You’re better than most developers. I like how you listen to the community, and it would be nice if the polls were done for every patch.
Did you have to call me out?
Can you at least say why they should stay? Here’s why I think they should be changed:
People will change their playstyle depending on the NK/evil faction. It’s unfair if the BD knows the opposing faction at the start. Also, aren’t you considering merging bleed and poison? This is the exact same thing, just with classes instead of abilities
They’re boring. You can only get 2 results, and you become useless after the evil faction is dead(which is partially why I think the NKs should be strong, they’re going up against 2 separate factions)
Smite is overpowered. It hardcounters the CL, there’s no risk to it, and it has little skill. Can you consider reworking paladin if you’re not going to merge them? Sheriff is at least a little fun since it has more abilities.
Naturally
Except, only certain BD know on d1 whether it is a cult or unseen game, and I believe that the informed minority are underadjusting for the blatant sheriff/paladin softs I’ve seen in game. I’ve seen it a few times on d1 where someone says “cult game” or “unseen game” and as scum you pretty much know they are She/Pal from that point on and can either convert them or fake claim effectively with that infomation.
This is a minority opinion. People enjoy playing HC because of the thrill of finding scum
Of course,
So you think NKs, a SOLO faction, should win 1 out of 5 games?
This is something that we may agree somewhat on, you see on FoL the paladin counts as a BD killer. If Smite is to stay on Paladin, I believe they should be changed to a killer class rather than an investigative.
Then again, cult has had a fairly consistent better winrate then the unseen currently. The proof is in the pudding
The more members your faction has the sooner you can fully control the day phase.
Cult have more opportunitys to convert because their ability to convert changes when their converter dies in all instances
Unless it is strictly an endgame, it is almost always better to convert than kill
Ergo cult should by default have a better winrate than unseen
