Why I don't respond to feedback

I figured I’d say why I don’t really respond to feedback lately.

No matter what I say, people will rush to just try to prove me wrong.

I don’t exactly have time nor do I want to deal with that constantly.

Like the reason that Possess was reduced was because I believe 17%+ win rate for a NK is way too high, but people will jump at the opportunity to tell me that my opinion on what the win rates should be is wrong.

The reason the neuts were changed was because people kept saying they wanted them to be more neutral, so that’s what I tried to do. Then when I explained that to people, they tell me that they never saw anyone complaining about it, so I must be wrong.

I literally can’t say anything without someone arguing with me. It gets old quickly.

Every time a patch comes out where any kind of change happens to the Sheriff/Paladin, RHCube pops up to say they need reworked and combined. It’s been going on for like a year. Shit ain’t gonna happen.

tbh, I see your point here, no matter how hard you try people still complain.

IMO you have done a great job so far, it’s just that no one will ever agree on the same thing here, and that’s why this game will never be perfect.

However I rlly do like the game and what you have done so far

yes people are shit heads no duh, but you ever think people complain because they want to try to help?
This is prob completely wrong but thats what I think. Don’t let people disagreeing with you from commenting on feed back Bos.

There’s a pretty clear difference between trying to help and trying to get your way.

Yeah that I can see lol

A lot of the time people just seem to want things their way. Whenever I get involved in feedback, it just becomes a shitshow of people trying to get what they want.

It’s much better for me to just try to look at feedback objectively and not comment on it.

There’s nothing you can do about that but try your best. Part of being human is arguing with others and never agreeing (harsh but true)

I’ve never thought about it like that.

Personally, I feel that discourse is super super important - but I can definitely see how direct developer involvement could turn a discussion into attempts to convince only you.

Then everybody loses.

Also usually when I start commenting on things, I’ll start to get more emotionally involved in them.

As you saw with the Scorned changed.

Fair enough lol

That’s like every human when they believe in something.

You worked hard at trying to make something good for people to shred it. IMO anyone would try defending what they did. Not rlly your fault

But if I’m defending changes, then I’m not being objective about them.

Eh, still. It’s not really your fault it’s just we are built to argue and be praised for what you did good. Then defend from people trying to say that it was a bad idea of stuff.

Either way making scorned like what it is now is trying to test what makes it better. You can’t really expect to get the right mix up of ideas on the first try. You just got to learn from it.

People may think one idea is great but as soon as they actually try it they think it’s awful.

As well love to see them make a game

You’re doing very well Boslof, and there will always be people like that. Just remember that there are people that support you too, and we’re here to support you

also any plans on making a new NK in the near future?

Objective view is really hard to keep in general regardless of the situation.
Especially if you’re working as somebody who is dealing with Criticism quite often.
They best you can do in my opinion is respond ONLY if their opinions are based on wrong assumption or if they aren’t understanding the reason behind changes.
Opinions are opinions, if they just don’t share your view then that’s fine. Usually starting conversation with them end up being waste of the time IF they stick to their view no matter what.
I’m pretty sure, no one ever is going to try force you to leave feedback in literally every post.
As long as you’re going do your job, I believe you don’t worry about it that much. :+1:

Eh. Someone somewhere in the playerbase will always disagree with any given change made so the odds of someone complaining after a patch no matter how well thought out it was approaches 1.
