Yet Another King Rework Thread

EDIT:: I don’t like this idea anymore, since having to choose between Royal Finger or Decide Fate adds a high level of strategy to current King. So nevermind lol.

I love the new King without Order Execute. The differences between Good and Evil King seem to have been cleverly implemented as well. However, I am of the opinion that further changes could be made to emphasize the concept of King as a political leader. I very much like the Gladiator ability from Mafia, so I replaced Royal Finger with it and made King’s double-accuse a passive.

The King

Special

Majesty (Passive) - Your accusations of treason count as two. You are immune to death at night once.

Loyalty (Passive) - (Starting Good King only) If you are executed, nobody can be accused of treason for one day (two days, if you are executed before Day 4).

Royal Finger (Day) - Only you or the person you accuse may be accused of treason today. - 1 use

Decide Fate (Day) - Decide whether to execute or pardon the player on the stand. - 1 use

Designate Heir (Night) - Permanently grant or remove royal blood. - 1 use

i like this but does this mean the king has no guards?

I like the heir ability… however, reworks are getting a bit tiring and a lot of people are getting angry about constantly relearning the game.

So, while I like heir, I hope the don’t implement any changes and focus on new things.

Gladiator king?

I would like Gladiator to be implemented into the game in some fashion, maybe a new class?

Interesting take, I like how you made Royal finger because of how it forces strategy

I edited my post to actually say I think the current royal finger is more strategic lol

I wish King could have Royal Finger, Decide Fate AND Gladiator as day abilities but alas I don’t think three day abilities will ever be implemented for any class

Question if a person already has royal blood will they be notified.

Say you want to use it on a mastermind but it’s a princess instead

I think a 2 vote passive is far bettwr for establishing the King

Still how does it notify you?

The intent was if player has royal blood, take it away, but if they don’t have it, give it to them.

They would not be notified, and not know it was used on them until the King died and it was time to step up

No scum player is going to waste 2 nights killing a king that might even be allied with them lol

I’m cool with that, but think of the ramifications it would have for the impact of King in lategame scenarios.

I like everything else otherwise.

NK always wants King dead, I was trying to take away the support aspect of King while maintaining his survivability. Are you saying the proposed King is too tanky?

then I suppose the only other way to achieve what I want is not let King use his guards on anyone but himself

I like that, it would allow evil king to continue to frame people as death immune (rare, I know but still)

Why would you ever want to frame someone this way? If they are being attacked then not saving them is the far better way to get them killed.
