Do you want me to summarize the mechanics?

Nah

I understand all the mechanics

I just donā€™t understand any of the strategy involved at all

*Figure out the keymaster
*Donā€™t vote the sacrifices because of the cap, or make them choose you for victory.
*If those who won are still in the game then sugar them up to trust you :joy:.
Iā€™m confused about the sage getting killed if theyā€™re not the sacrifice.
*Try to fake claim when sage and sacrifice apparently.

/in, but also:
Correct me if Iā€™m wrong, but what repercussions are there for letting the Sacrifice win?

Awoo

If the Sacrifice cap runs out, those alive are going to lose.

Here

So technically the first Sacrifice can get a free win with someone else? The goal is basically to prevent two Sacrifices (from two different chapters) from getting majority?

Well, you risk accidentally voting out a second sacrifice, but yeah.

Okay, before we start this game, can we at the very least promise ourselves to not be a motherfucker who throws the game by intentionally getting voted out as the Keymaster?

Also, Iā€¦ have mixed feelings about this game, now that I think about it.

ā€¦actually, nvm. I just want to have fun, and I think I can have that in this game without getting ostracized.

Yeah, games are fun and people think is fun to win.

I wonder if Sage is in place to prevent the KM to die.

Well, it is kinda complicated. On one hand, Sage needs to prevent Keymaster from getting voted out at all costs, because otherwise everyone dies.

On the other hand, your odds of dying will rise if you claim Sage, since you claim to not be the Keymaster.

Then there is also the Sacrifice, who will probably claim Sage as well, but the problem with this isā€¦ well, it will become very obvious once the game starts.

Right, they need to vote somebody

It is basically a death sentence, since you either die from Keymasterā€™s curse, or die from getting voted out. Which is why it is never wise to claim Sage as Sage under normal circumstances.

In the game, real lives were at stake, and according to the rule of altruism, sacrificing yourself to save others is better than having everyone die together.

No. Thatā€™s not the problem.

But the thing is: We are not playing with our RL lives at stake, so there is a non-zero possibility that a Sage who is depressed IRL just lets the Keymaster or does some other weird non-optimal moves.

I love how this is becoming deep

So, there is the matter with Sacrifices claiming Sage, but then there is also another problem that comes from of the left corner: The Commoners. The Commonersā€™ situation are identical to that of a Sage.

Claiming Commoner is basically a second form of death sentence, except -since we are not risking real lives- this action will be seen as gamethrowing if Commoner claims Commoner, since always increases their odds of dying.

I mean, you can try to do some reverse psychology by mentioning how the Sacrifice can also claim Commoner, butā€¦

I will make this prediction: Assuming all Sacrifices died in Chapter 1 ~ 3, the Sacrifice of the 4th Chapter will ALWAYS claim Sage.
