He’s on 2 teams and is one vote. So both of those teams control 2 votes
Because the Possessor will kill the BD that night, knowing he can’t kill the MM and can win with the Sellsword
The updated scenario is night begins with 1 BD, 1 MM, 1 sellsword and 1 Possessor. Converting the sellsword secures the win for Unseen if the Possessor kills the BD.
And why do you want to nerf NK in order to buff unseen/cult?
I still want NKs buffed. But I also want more convertables instead of the dumb random free convert on third failed attempt thing.
I was Mercenary shielding Prince and while I was jailed, someone attacked Prince but I died instead without Prince executing me. Is this intended? Seems very bizarre that I give my life to save Prince’s while imprisoned.
I guess it kinda makes it like a last resort and is thefore better than knight when merc.
Are we assuming all party’s know who is who? If it’s a Reaper game then the Reaper kills the MM regardless and Possessor is particularly good at getting information so it’s not unreasonable. If so:
MM converts sellsword to confirm win. Thus Possessor kills sellsword to prevent this. Thus MM converts BD instead. Sellsword who knows who the BD is can now either guard the BD for an NK win or not for an Unseen win. Which BD is it anyways?
I failed to kill hunter because he was sheilded by a DEAD MERC!
lost possessor game because of this
Because Butler, Drunk, Prince, Knight (trust me), Hunter, Physician and CW once Tornado bypasses immunity can make converting sellsword pointless
you he was not guarded by the king ?
Nope the message was he was shielded by a merc, and guess what, king and 1 more player were alive and he was a butler
the merc was already dead when you attacked ?
Yeah he was dead, noone else (only me since i was wolfed) died that night since i was the only killer
Are we assuming all party’s know who is who?
We are assuming only what is necessary to prove that there is at least one possible situation where converting sellsword is beneficial LOL
Ok then lets assume that the MM has perfect information and no one else knows anything except that there is a MM and a Possessor.
Possessor has a 1/3 chance of hitting the BD, 1/3 chance of hitting the Sellsword, 1/3 chance of hitting the MM. If he kills the sellsword then the MM needs to convert the BD and vice versa.
However. If you convert the sellsword and the possessor attacks the MM or doesn’t attack then it would be 1 BD vs 2 Unseen vs NK. The NK can easily figure out who the sellsword is by how everyone is voting. He kills the sellsword and you are left with a BD kingmaker.
If you convert the BD however then the sellsword is likely to vote with your majority Unseen and thus let you win much more often. Still not a good idea to convert sellsword.
If you convert the sellsword and the possessor attacks the MM or doesn’t attack then it would be 1 BD vs 2 Unseen vs NK.
But if the Possessor attacks the BD then when day begins it’s 2 unseen versus 1 possessor and unseen automatically wins. Where as if you had tried to convert the BD, it would have failed because the possessor killed him at the same time, leaving 1 unseen, 1 poss and 1 kingmaker mercenary.
And vice versa if possessor attacks the sellsword. You do not have a guaranteed win regardless.
That’s true but if you have good reason to believe poss will kill the BD, converting the sellsword is the best strategy.
In your situation you would never have that information because it isn’t true. At most you would psych yourself out.
