4 Social classes

None of these ideas are completely original.

Purpose: Dead manipulation. Physician won’t be changed.

Priest - Blue Dragon Social (Unique)
Passive 1: Call the dead - Speak to the dead at night.
Passive 2: Devoted - Night immune once

Day Ability 1: Summon - Select a dead player’s soul to utilize next night. You can only utilize each player once. You cannot utilize Killer or Special type classes. (Unlimited)

Night Ability: Chanelling - Use the summoned players first night Ability. (Unlimited)

Soulcatcher - Unseen Social (Unique)
Passive 1: Call the darkness - Dead Unseen can talk to the living Unseen at night.
Passive 2: Consume soul - If you would die at night. Instead consume a soul and survive

Day Ability 1: Invade - Consume 3 soul’s and make 1 person hear someone else say something. They will not hear anything else that person says. (Special)
Day Ability 2: Blank - Consume 1 soul. Capture soul will wipe the players journal tonight. You can still read it. (Special)

Night Ability: Capture soul - Collect a players dying soul. (Unlimited)

Purpose: Anonymous communication

Psychic - Blue Dragon Social (Unique)
Passive: Psychic shield - Immune to social day Ability’s.

Day Ability: Telepathy - Send an anonymous message to all players. (3 uses)

Night Ability 1: Link minds - You can talk to target player anonymously for the rest of the night. (Unlimited)
Night Ability 2: Conduit - Choose 2 players. They can talk to each other for the rest of the night. You can hear but not talk to them. (Unlimited)

Illusionist - Unseen Social (Unique)
Passive: Psychic shield - Immune to social day Ability’s

Day Ability: Telepathy - Send an anonymous message to all players. (3 uses)

Night Ability 1: Mind warp - Target player receives incorrect feedback tonight. (Unlimited)
Night Ability 2: Mind read - Look at Target players journal. (2 uses)

Purpose: Whisper manipulation

Noble - Blue Dragon Social
Passive 1: Royal Blood - You can step up to be king
Passive 2: Espionage - If a hidden negative effect is applied to you then you will know

Day Ability: Private matters - Whispers to and from you are hidden for the rest of the day. (Unlimited)

Night Ability 1: Maid Spy - Hear whispers to and from Target player until you choose another player. Does not count as a visit. (Unlimited)

Night Ability 2: Snoop - You will learn the contents of all whispers from target player yesterday. Cannot target King. (3 uses)

Aristocrat - Blue Dragon Social
Passive 1: Royal Blood - You can step up to be king
Passive 2: Espionage - If a hidden negative effect is applied to you then you will know

Day Ability 1: Private matters - Whispers to and from you are hidden for the rest of the day. (Unlimited)
Day Ability 2: Misfile - Whispers from target player will fail today. They will think they succeeded. (2 uses)

Night Ability 1: Maid Spy - Hear whispers to and from Target player until you choose another player. Does not count as a visit. (Unlimited)

Night Ability 2: Snoop - You will learn the contents of all whispers from target player yesterday. Cannot target King. (3 uses)

Purpose: Vote and trial Manipulation

Merchant - Blue Dragon Social
Passive: Bureaucracy - You can see vote contents in real time exept when you are on trial

Day Ability 1: Bribe - Force one person to accuse another and prevent further voting. (2 uses)
Day Ability 2: Fund - If there is a tie on trial the person is executed. (2 uses)

Night Ability 1: Bounty - If target player is executed tomorrow and is Blue Dragon then there will be an additional trial and execution. Cannot target King. (Unlimited)
Night Ability 2: Overtime - There can be up to 3 trials tomorrow. (1 use)

Con artist - Unseen Social
Passive: Bureaucracy - You can see vote contents in real time exept when you are on trial

Day Ability 1: Bribe - Force one person to accuse another and prevent further voting. (2 uses)
Day Ability 2: Fund - If there is a tie on trial the person is executed. (2 uses)

Day Ability 2: Mind control - Force one person to accuse another and prevent further voting. (2 uses)

Night Ability 1: Cult spy - Hear whispers to and from Target player until you choose another player. Does not count as a visit. (3 uses)
Night Ability 2: Hypnotize - Target player receive a feedback of your choice. (2 uses)

Removing one of Psychics best abilities kinda makes it a worse prince.IMO.

Soulcatchers Ability is as opposed to dying. An NK would look sus trying to out you and you can just claim healed by phys anyways.

Priest was already a thing and had those passives. Her problem was with the revive Ability which she doesn’t have. The day ability is there to select which class Ability to use so that it can work with 2 target Ability’s.

Psychic was already a power class before she got the ability to hear the dead. This suggestion is totally a Nerf to Psychic and I think that is fine.

Espionage basically tells you if you are frammed, mind warped ect…

Alright then , i see the use in the passive , but a chance of that happening is extremely small , it might as well not be there.

I am aware priest was already a thing , but i dont think they worked well , and still don’t think now they do.

IMO , Psychic in its current form is fine. The nerf is ok apart from the fact that Link Minds is sorta trumped in every way by Imprison and brings nothing new anymore.

I gave Psychic another Ability.

Psychic isn’t Bad right now by any stretch. She’s actually my favorite class. However she has too meny of the chat interactions riding on her and that makes her swingy.

Priest wasn’t very good before but I also know WHY she wasn’t. She was both super swingy and super boring because everyone only resed the prince.

I dont think i fully understand the term “swingy” ive alwasy just interpreted it as abilities not having any correlation to each other , but if that isnt then another whoops.

Swing is basically when a class is strong enough that it not spawning or it dying immediately ect is enough to hugely determine who wins or loses that game. The better one class is compared to the rest the more swingy it is. Prince and Mastermind are the best existing examples I can think of for swingy classes. It is the reason Prince is guarenteed and unconvertable and the reason why Mastermind is night Immune and replaceable the first 3 days.

Btw. A little swing is necessary for the game. It can make a dynamic of classes that are powerful but need to hide and classes that are weaker but can be more agressive due to being more expendable.

Too much can make early game far too important however.

No night immune BD. That’s just bad. Summon and Chanel work. Why not let Soulcatcher keep channel? Soul system is really confusing, and Summon is powerful enough.

Why is Psychic immune to day abilities? It seems arbitrary. Mind control is just like an invoker, which is Okay. I’m still against Link Minds even with this buff, since you can only use Mind Control twice, and even with it is still too like Imprison. I am mostly against snooping, and if you’re evil it’s finding out your target’s class, since BD don’t lie.

Noble changes are alright.

I didn’t want to make the Soulcatcher a carbon copy. Since the Priest is fake claimable it is fine to do. The soul system is the exact same as the reaper’s and even shares a passive.

SOCIAL day Ability’s. And it’s for the same reason as why a Butler is Occupy immune. I don’t want the one with the primary chat manipulation to be vulnerable to more chat manipulation.

If it is only on evil then this doesn’t matter. It lets you get the info you would normally get from link minds exept without notifying them. BD may not lie but the NK sure does. Plus getting exact classes is nothing new for Unseen members.

Hunter Bear gives better night Immunity. Butler party is better than night Immunity. CW can dodge attacks. This isn’t even full night Immunity as it is only one time. We have already tried this and I know it works.

Why not make it a carbon copy? There’s no reason to reinvent it. Psychic shouldn’t be immune to chat manipulation because there is no contradiction. Butler is occupy immune because if a Butler occupies a Butler it would be a mind screw.

If Snoop always works, that makes it a limited use Marshal probe. Hunter gets immunity when they use a limited supply of Bears. Tornado causes someone else’s death if you were attacked, and has limited uses.

Because the version I did make has mechanics that would be very good for Unseen to have. The most interesting converts are the ones that are nothing like their BD equivalents.

Contradiction does not just mean mindfuck. Like with the Hunter having OCC Immunity or Phys bleed Immunity I don’t want to have the class that does nothing but chat be subject to chat manipulation.

This one has limited uses (1 as per the passive) and can’t cause a counter attack unlike the other 2. The advantage is that it is more reliable.

Carbon copies are useful for both sides. Drunk and Alcoholic are the same but have utility for both factions. It doesn’t stop chat manipulation so it doesn’t need immunity. Phys has immunity because who’s gonna heal it? Hunter chooses when to be immune. This version of the Priest always uses it when it is needed. If Snooping sometimes gives unreliable information, it is worse than Probe, since it is 2 uses and can give false information.

That’s why most classes are copies. This one doesn’t need to be so it isn’t. If the devs disagree with me then that is thier problem.

Hunter is 3 shot night Immunity with a counter attack. Priest is 1 shot reflexive night Immunity. They aren’t that much different in terms of survivability.

No. They are non comparable. Snoop gives lots of semi reliable info(class, reads, logs) while Probe gives just the class but reliably.

Change the name to Telepathic, and make it so it works on day abilities instead.

Change it so it is unlimited and makes your chat(includes whispers and accusations) anonymous for the rest of the day. The goal of psychic is anonymous communication, yet they can’t do that if they don’t have a reliable way of sharing information. Psychics will sometimes use it just to confirm themselves, which is a waste. Also, why did you remove private matter? It was fine.

This doesn’t fit with the rest of the abilities. Replace it with Mind Link(unlimited) - select 2 players. They will be able to speak with each other for the rest of the night. You can hear them but you may not talk to them.

Versitile/telepathic should be kept.

Same thing as before, make it for the rest of the day and make it unlimited. Also add back private matter.

Again, this doesn’t fit with the rest of illusionist’s abilities. Just make another class based off of reading logs, and change this to hypnotize - select a false passive night feedback result to give to your target(this will work the same as ToS’s hypnotist).

There’s nothing wrong with noble being a pure vote manipulator. The issue with the old noble was that it was weak, not the vote manipulation part. Just give the ability to read whispers to another class which is based off of it.

Make it two uses, and give it the same changes I suggested for telepathy.

This is fine, but the day abilities are the same as Psychic’s. Just replace this with another day ability, and add a new passive: Heresy - Members of the cult will be able to talk in a separate chat during the day.

I like the idea, but it is a bit weak. Replace it with this: Eavesdrop(1 or 2 uses) - You will hear all whispers during the next day.

This is a bit weak since it only has 2 uses. Replace it with snoop.

Everything else is fine.

Linked minds is the reliable method of sharing info. 3 uses is plenty for emergency day reveals. Private matter is fine which is why I moved it to the more whisper baised Noble rather than removing it. I don’t want it to be unlimited so that people cant force the Psychic to use it every day to prove not promoted.

It actually works perfectly when you consider the type of Information that linked minds and snoop gives. Namely Claims and claimed actions as well as reads sometimes. While I don’t think illusionist needs your hypnotize suggestion it does give me another idea I will get to in a sec.

The problem with vote manipulation is that it is borring on its own. It definitely isn’t weak. This is your class baised on whisper reading. I am in the process of brainstorming a vote manip class but it is hard to design one that is engaging.

On one hand I feel like I am making the Apostle too strong. On the other hand the other cult needs buffs too and I’ll try to get on that.

While your passive idea is fine the purpose of the ability is to make private matters not a method of proving a Noble claim. If I had my way Possessor should be able to fake it.

That just feels way too strong. I’d need a 2nd or 3rd option or so before considering that. Especially when you consider that Maid/Cult spy is actually pretty good.

Actually I think I will replace it with hypnotize.

It’s actually a bit of both.

Here’s a few other options then:

  • Make it so it works like Sheriff’s scout(meaning it will remain on the target until you change targets)(Make it so noble also works like this)

  • Make it so it works on 2 targets

I’d prefer the first one.
