A Civilised Debate Thread

Just imagine. Everyone you meet ages and dies.

Eventually, as you continue on, centuries will start to feel like a year.

And you would be alone. As everyone you have met will die.

The most an Immortal can do is give him or herself purpose is to protect the descendants of his or her loved one.

Also. It turns out you will never be truly immortal.

It turns out, shockingly, the universe actually has a fucking failsafe.

I am not thinking, the universe actually has a failsafe.

No, if you are truly immortal/invincible, then you would survive the heat death of the universe
You would literally be the only thing left inn the entire universe

Exactly why the option THAT ISN’T EVEN AN OPTION is a bad idea.

Extending lifespan is fine, but death is what gives life meaning or something.

You love to argue with people, don’t you?

that’s literally what the thread is for

Flight is better than immortality in any case.

Can we have that poll and move on to another topic?

telepathy is immoral (reading people’s thoughts)

flying is impractical. you can only take few things, and you will get tired.

no downside to invisibility.

heres a downside:
you’re blind when invisible
and telepathy isnt reading peoples minds, thats mind-reading, its communication with at least one person (one at a time) via their thoughts

and for flying, we’re just talking about propelling yourself as a means of transport
just hovering or flying yourself would not get you tired much at all

for carrying things, it would take as much effort as normally picking those things up and carrying them

no, who told you that?

well it is useful but invisibility allows many possibilities. you could be a spy for your country, get free movie theater seats, pull good pranks, etc.

hovering is useless.

yes but you can’t use your flying to get to vacation locations.

i forgot about that lol

hovering isnt useless! its fun!
also as someone with 2 short Achilles tendons and is flat footed, i can say for sure how much of a help hovering around would be

light isnt bouncing off your eyes, which is what allows you to see, its passing through them, thus making you blind

invisibility is impossible, don’t try to apply science to something impossible

but if you were invisible, that would mean that in that circumstance, it was, and as such science could be applied
also, i was just answering you’re questing:

well if invisibility is possible then so is sight without eyes, which happens. All the comics allow invisible people to see.

that was never stated here, just that you are invisible, not necessarily that you can see while invisible

it wasn’t stated that you couldn’t either
