Can we get rid of this lame gimmick?

The Death Knight.

The Death Knight is an incredibly lame way to stop dead BD from leaving the game. Once evil kills you, you should stay dead. Evil can’t be resurrected as a death-immune killer ghost so why should BD?

A lot of games are turned by Death Knights when Evil played really well and should have been rewarded with the win. Sometimes you even have 2 Death Knights (4 guards and 2 CS) that have all the information from the last night of the dead people’s abilities, and possibly cooperating with a living Psychic and ALSO confirming living physicians in the process. And the Death Knights can communicate this information via deathnotes.

And the price of a Death Knight is simply a night without healing someone that probably didn’t need healing anyway.

Death Knight please go away, get out of this game.

I agree, but at best Death Knights should be spawned by a class whose sole purpose is DKs. Tacking it onto Physician is even worse, as they’re just really really powerful.

If you want to nerf bd, do it in another way.

DKs are a very good idea, but a terrible execution with the ability of the class. I’d perfer a one shot vigi DK made by a class. Hell I’ll make one now

The Reanimator

Blue Dragon Support
Passive:Once More-When you get lynched you become a Death Knight as if you used Improved Reanimation
Day Ability:Improved Reanimation-When you reanimate tonight you give them 2 Guards and 2 Cold Steels-1 use(Will not be used if jailed or occupied in anyway shape or form)
Night Ability:Reanimate-You make a death knight with one cold steel and 1 guard which you can use one or the other (can’t use Cold Steel and Guard in one death knight)-3 uses

What if we made a weaker variant? It would be a cool way to keep BD in the game, without some of those problems. DKs definitely should not have death notes. Call of the Dead is for getting information.

I always kind of figured that someone on the dev team just really wanted to keep the resurrection mechanic in the game after priest was removed. I think DKs are actually pretty well balanced (except I’d say give them a static death note that lets you know it was a DK kill). Lately though it seems like people are quitting early more frequently than when DK was first introduced. I’ve had several phys games where the skill was completely useless every night since everyone quit right after they died.

I actually think exhume was a pretty good spell for the phys and would like to see it come back. But then again I’d also like to see the priestess return with a rez rework/replacement.

I like the DK as it is. Interactions with the dead are necessary to keep them engaged, which is desirable overall - if people leave the moment they die, engagement with the game overall diminishes. The game either needs to have a fair number of dead interactions, and powerful ones, or none at all, and I’m absolutely not in favor of going for none at all.

Beyond that, I feel that evils should always be punished for being too obvious, regardless of what stage of the game it’s at. The point where evils can afford to be completely obvious should be after the game has already ended. DKs help contribute to that, and reduce late-game situations where the game becomes boring because absolutely everything is known 100%.

At the moment it is not fair that BD has DKs and evil can’t even talk to their dead.

Lets give evils classes that let them talk to their dead then.

You should check it out though. It moves call the dead back to priest, Gives psychic some new utility without altering his function, Makes noble pure spy (no snoop though. I moved that to illusionist and only illusionist) and adds another completely different class to be a vote manipulator with trial manipulation night ability’s to make him more interesting early game.
