I know that the Priest was removed a few months ago, but in hopes of having him back, I made this. BD doesn’t have a support class that recharges limited abilities (after that CW change). I planned for the Priest to be conversion immune but there’s currently some debate on that topic.
I don’t know what abilities would work very well for the Heretic, and I am not sure if they should be a Support or Social class, and if one is chosen, how abilities should be changed or not.

Removed Conversion Immunity from Bishop and Renewal ability @NuclearBurrito
Oh hey, and ok, I was just going off of the most recent version of Priest before it was cut away. But then you got any Passive suggestions for this guy?
One possable passive the priest might have is the effects of Consecration but always on her. I would also suggest that you make it block the person from being targeted by day Ability’s and remove the effects of chill if they are effected by it.
Oh okay, I can fix it up real quick then. Priest was one of the classic classes in my opinion, but the fact that it was removed sort of left a hole in my heart kinda.
And I don’t know about the Call the Dead thing. Because wouldn’t that fit better for Social classes; not Support ones?
Well what about the Gravedigger Passive I had for the Peasant? It would be renamed, but then possibly the Psychics could keep their passive and the Priest could watch what the dead say, but not respond.
Or what about a completely new class in general? And do you think the Priest would work as a Social class? (I changed the Consecration ability for experimentation)
So, about the passives… I like one of them, but I’d like it even more if one thing was changed.
On Devout, no Troll Boxing immunity. TB is more like a ventriloquist act than some form of voice tampering. Other than that, it’s so easy to confirm you didn’t say 5 is cult that having a passive blocking that isn’t needed and would be bad for the balance of the game, in my opinion.
As for Voice of Spirits, I’d honestly take it out and I’ll tell you why. Psychic conversions. At first, I thought ok, we make it so that the Priest can’t hear the Psychic and his target and that solves it, but then I remembered how often it happens that players who recently died always ask in the nights why is there no psychic. So this passive would be just unbalanced in that way. That and the fact that you just got the Possessor another counter. So yeah, I’m against this passive.
This is another thing that I found to be a little unbalanced but with a sort of easy fix. Imagine how powerful is a Hunter who gets both his Wolf and his Bear back. I’d make it so that you recharge only one of the target’s limited abilities. By default, it would be the first one. If it was fully charged, you’d go for the second.
Again, one ability, not all, is my opinion. In this case, not so much, though, since it’s a one time use. This is an extremely powerful ability.
What I’d do with this is actually the following:
Switch the names between night ability 1 and 2.
Make it so that the new Blessing has unlimited uses and makes a person immune to conversion that night. Leave the recharge for the other ability.
Change the new Renewal to limited time uses. Something like 3 uses.
Blocking day abilities on the target is already powerful enough, the whisper thing is too much in my opinion. Taking it out would also help you decide on Support, instead of Social. Which I believe is the best choice to follow with the Priest.
Falses Words is an okay passive on him.
Heresy should not be here. It doesn’t belong.
Dark Chant, on the other hand, is okay.
Since Priest has Renewal, why don’t you put Reload in? It would be only fair. You recharge one use of the assassin’s Double Kill ability. The number of uses would be up to you.
I don’t know what’s going on here if I’m going to be honest. Would you mind clarifying it for me please?
And I think this determines Priest and Heretic as Support classes then. (Although we’re really short on Social classes)
And yeah, I was going to make the Priest completely unconvertable, but Nuclear suggested it would be too OP, and I agree in hindsight, so I couldn’t think of amazing abilities for the Heretic. I’m going to go with what I can get slowly.
Clarification incoming! I’ll write the abilities as I imagined them, ok?
Night Ability 1 - Blessing (Unlimited uses):
Target player is immune to conversion for that night.
Night Ability 2 - Renewal (3 uses):
Give a target player one charge for one of his abilities. (By default the first, if fully-charged or unlimited, then the second. If both are fully-charged or unlimited, you will receive a message telling he did not require your ability.)
That’s what I meant with the 3 steps! Also, blessing could aim at two targets, but that might be going overboard with its power.
We are indeed short on social classes, but also, we lack a lot of room as far as support goes. Most Supports currently heal or guard, nothing else. Except for the evil ones.
I agree too!
You know that most games don’t reach Day 7 right? I think that passive would hurt more than help. If you survived until day 7 with your Priest, chances are that evil either have the majority or are winning. In any of those two cases, you’d want to be converted. At least I’d want.
Have a great new year!! I’ll be seeing you around here for sure!
Okay, then what if I set it to Day 4 or Day 5 for the Sanctified passive?
And I see where you’re going with this. But yes, I think targeting two people with Blessing would be better, because if it’s just one, then the Court Wizard’s Magical Barrier out-classes every single time.
Is this class unique? Weather it is or isn’t it I would like to point out that Priest + CW*2 gives you a total of up to 9 (effectively) Conversation immune BD.
Priest on CWs
CW on sheriff’s
Sheiffs scout 2 others (so far that’s 5 before that)
Prince and good king are another 2 for a total of 9.
Do you know why magic Barrier isn’t already 2 target? It used to be. Conversions almost never succeeded. And don’t even get me started on if this isn’t unique.
This class is unique, and that’s why we experiment, didn’t know about the possible conversion immune count, so thank you. Then what would you suggest feom this point
