They shouldn’t lol
Arete: ‘optimally the BD should probably win, I don’t know, 45 percentish’
Jake:
Anyways I personally tend to think that FoL NKs should only win if they’re ~roughly speaking one of the best players at advancing their win condition in the match
currently in FoL they generally lose even if they actually do the best of any player at advancing their win condition
I’m not sure if there’s a way to balance them that would give a middle ground?
Ok, so maybe I’m over exaggerating.
But why should, when 3 sides are in direct conflict, two of them be more likely to win than the 3rd?
And if the NK exists sole to help the scum win, then why shouldn’t scumrates be higher?
If you’re looking for a reason proportionality factors in at all:
It’s a social game
The larger team is always going to have more “social power” or whatever the hell you want to call it and because that’s the type of game you’re playing you’re going to need to work that into your balance
The solution is to give the larger group less control over their winrate.
I’m not sure what you mean by that but also it’s midnight and I’m going to bed lol
And one method is handing out more vanilla cards to the larger group, less vanillas to the smaller group, and a very powerful card to the smallest NK.
The NK doesn’t exist sole to kill more. It also exists to put additional pressure on all sides.
laughs in having 5x the posts of the entire wolfteam combined in Fol25 and more posts in my classcard than in their scumchat as inq
but yes on average u are correct
You will note that that was a BD win. :^)
The response to “the larger group has more social power” shouldn’t immediately be to throw your hands in the air and say “fuck you NK, let the large team win”
jake you are misrepresenting “NK should win less than Bd or cultseen” as “nk shouldn’t win”
this is just falllacious
I mean, you have a greater chance of randomly killing a heathen N1 as ToL Inq than orange suggested the average winrate of NK should be
i do agree 7.5 is lower than it should be
but you should discuss this all in good faith instead of strawmanning the opposing argument as “Nk shouldn’t win”
cause it’s obviously easier to argue against that but not what anyone is saying
So why should the NK win less than 1/3rd of the time, just like what I suggest for everyone else?
because this game is balanced around throne of lies.
obviously we have some deviations but in the end NK here is just like it is in ToL
difficult to win but satisfying to pull it off
and also the purpose of adding nightkills for gamespeed etc
and also, i just wouldn’t find it fun to play where 1 person holds half of the opposing power
that in itself is hella swingy
Marshal, why should we do something here based on something else?
well first this is the i42 forum lul. Xblade pays for our fun.
and also that’s the whole point of… FoL. A fun rolemadness hell type game based off of throne of lies. If you don’t have fun playing FoL because of it’s premise then fine but deviating too much from it’s premise is just creating a regular rolemadness hell game.
Marshal, can you tell me how many SFoLs have been played as to how many FoLs?
there have been 58(?) sfols as opposed to 25 FoLs
