Jacques looks outside in interest.
“Are those… Mutated rabbits?”
The driver laughs a bit and says:
“Yes, we’ve seen them quite often recently.”
“Huh. Good thing this SUV is safe from them…” ‘…I hope.’ He thinks that last part to himself.
Justin decides that he’s done practicing his lightning bolts. He considers heading down to the warehouse, but instead, goes to the bar hoping to learn of any useful information there.
He arrives at the bar a few minutes later. What does he see?
A few hillbillies can be seen in the corner, drinking beer and shouting at each other. Near the bartender you could see one police officer having a shot. The beer seems quite empty.
Justin notices the police officer and decides to go sit beside him. He calls the bartender for another round for the officer.
The bartender gives one more shot to the officer
Officer: “Thanks man, appreciate it”
Officer Daed smiles
“Tough day at work, bud?”
Officer Daed frowns
“Yeah… I was assigned to investigate this “magic card” assignment so, It’s hard to know who is speaking the truth and who isn’t…”
“Oh, is that so? So I’m assuming you know a lot about the subject?”
Justin smiles slightly, and takes his badge out to show to the officer.
“How much have you found out in this investigation?”
Officer Daed investigates the badge and says:
“Ah, working with Interpol, aren’t we? I’ve only been to the hospital so far, talked to “Fade”. He confirmed the existance of the cards and said that there was conflict at the graveyard over them. Although, he didn’t know any names or anything, so it’s a dead end for us.”
Shortly after saying this, 4 hillbillies walk up to the pair.
"Look what we have here. “The law people”. Get outta here, this is our bar, partner.
Justin moves his attention away from the officer and turns to the hillbillies. He stands up and puts his hand on his gun.
“Step back, I’ve killed stronger men than any of you in Afghanistan.”
Officer Daed rises from his stool and walks up to one of the hillbillies. Daed seems quite drunk.
“Sir hiccup plea- hiccup leave the area…”
Noticing that officer is drunk, one of the hillbillies charges at him and starts a fight with him. The other 3 both watch Justin.
“You stay out of this, boy.”
Justin pulls out his gun.
“Don’t make me shoot!”
All 3 hillbillies charge at Justin, looking angry.
He sighs and shoots at the middle one. The gun jams.
“Ah fuck.”
The hillbilly reaches him and Justin jumps out of the way, shooting a lightning bolt into the hillbilly. He pulls out his knife after landing and holds it in his left hand.
One of the hillbillies get shocked the other two hillbillies take stools and say
“C’mon boy. You don’t want to do this.”
Justin gets up, and throws the knife at one of the hillbillies. He shocks the other.
One of hillbillies start fleeing the bar, Officer Daed managed to take care of his opponent aswell. The duo quickly suppress the hillbillies.
Justin looks at Officer Daed.
“Call for a squad car, take them to the station… So who is this Fade, and what conflict in a graveyard?”
