I don’t like the citizen idea because while that might solve the balance problems it would also make the game much less fun for anyone that rolls citizen.

Well ya but you need to be able to act on your reads. In a game with evils this powerful a vote simply isn’t enough.

FoL is not always about scumreading. If you want a forum game based solely on scum reading then try basically any other forum game.

While FoL is not perfect the fun variety of its classes is essential to its longevity and makes it more more likely to draw more players from the main ToL game. Granted it makes it less likely to draw players from the “pro” fm sites but fuck those guys am I rite.

Personally I prefer games with less power classes but that’s not what FoL is.

Personally my favorite FM games are one’s with no night kills. Lots of false information and lots of claim space.

Like the one where everyone was just cops of various sanity’s and the mafia was a framer and a tanner

Although I’d love to play some more well-balanced games, there’s a few things that give me pause

Such as the fact that we already have conversions lmao

We can run balanced stuff as FM, but FoL itself has several issues to overcome if you add Cits. The power creep is real, as each PR is so multipurpose that people get up your ass for calling them a “role” instead of a “class”. Additionally, we still haven’t solved the “converting Cits” issue. And, with Neutrals who are also this powerful, Cits may well be sitting ducks. It may make sense to raise the playercap if we add Cits, giving BD a few more players in exchange for less powerful players. Who even knows?

Worth testing, but not something I’d wholesale implement atm

(Diversity is what I like about the game and adding a vanilla townie style class ruins the point of ToL a little bit)

I disagree, it takes an extreme amount of talent with no luck involved whatsoever to win BtM.
