5 people were alive when Vulgard flipped (Universal, Shurian, Marshal, DirectorHail, Wazza).

If any good player had their character swapped, we’d know.
If the Vortox swapped himself with a dead player, we would lose instantly.

I still think Vortox choosing to not swap there is the most likely possibility.
