Question for FoL / FM players here that don't play ToL

But only in theory :stuck_out_tongue: In practice I’ve never seen this… ever.

I’ve played way less games than you and I definitely have

Yea, I think I’m just not able to see it, but it’s definitely there.

well maybe i’m just extremely unlucky
because i would have known if this had happened

I have

it’s literally one of the things the loading screen tips tell you to look out for

no

No…
I’m just between the sides. I’m very social for a ToL player, and very mechanical for a FoL player. I can theoretically play both (like a lot of us as well), but I prefer ToL more

i don’t think i could
ToL has become so stale to me that it’s basically unbearable

some of N’s posts here feel like he’s just … playing a completely different game than I am? like, you claim you’ve never seen anyone even try to socially deduce, have you seriously never seen anyone look at the numbers of people who upped the Mastermind, or say things like ‘wow you were defending the super obvious evil I bet you’re evil too,’ or things like that?

A lot of players do that. Most newbies don’t, but if you have 100+ hours, most people start to do this.

yes im sure i’ve never seen anyone do any strategy that wasn’t mechanical at its core, and im also sure i would have remembered if this had happened

looking at who voted up evils is something that happens in every game with competent players

like there are plenty of players that I don’t even consider particularly good who do that

A very basic example: “fast trial”
it means “there was not enough resistence to this trial, the player is most likely BD because he got voted up by BD and evils alike.”

to be clear I’m not talking about anyone in this conversation

that is not a social strategy, it’s a ToL meta. Of course i know about the metas that exist in ToL. They all become extremely barebones and stale after a while (and they’re all extremely counterable)

confused Arete noises

and that literally is a social strategy

it’s vote count analysis! that’s the thing that it is! it is entirely based on social interactions of how the players interact with each other!
