The way you defended him could be wolf motivated in that you wanted to keep a townie who was hurting the town alive to continue to help the scumteam, and if he flips town you get credit for reading him correctly.

Because I barely ever see townies be against PLs its usually wolves trying to look better and ultimately performative

No, because their claim was that Sarah killed Lucy. In that world, Sarah would almost certainly be an Assassin or the NK, because most of the time, a Cult Leader would rather convert someone on night 1 than kill someone.
