New Cult Points explanation in OP

probably overcomplicated but it should hopefully answer most questions with the given examples

Cult Points

Cult Points are a system for deciding what abilities you gain when you are converted to the Mithras Cult. Each ability varies in cost (though they usually cost 1 point, and you usually have 2 points) and you are able to take any ability you once had from your former class, with some exceptions. You are still limited to a maximum of two passives, two day abilities and two night abilities, including the ones from your new cult class.

Cult Alts are abilities that have been altered to be balanced on a cult class. Most classes have at least one Cult Alt, and can buy it and/or normal abilities within Cult point maximum. You can not take the normal variant of an ability from your class if it has been modified to be a Cult Alt.

For example, if you were converted from The Archer you would have 2 Cult points, and could use them to pick a Day and Night ability from the possible Cult Alts. As you are limited to 2 day and 2 night abilities, your choices would be:

Archer Choice A

The Mithras Acolyte :crossed_swords:

Cult Killer
Spirit of Mithras (Passive) - Starting with the second use of the Cult Leader’s Blood of Mithras, if you would be sacrificed, the first time you will not die.
Flesh to Flesh (Day) - Choose 2 players. If one of them is attacked tonight by a non-cult member then you will attack the other. - 2 uses
Sacrilege (Night) - If the Cult Leader’s conversion fails or they use Blood of Mithras, you will shoot their target for them instead. Does not count as a visit. - 2 uses
Curse of Mithras (Night) - If the target is bled tomorrow, they will die in 1 night instead of 2 nights. - 1 use :crown:
Your objective is to defeat the Blue Dragon and the Corax Cult.

Archer Choice B

The Mithras Acolyte :crossed_swords:

Cult Killer
Spirit of Mithras (Passive) - Starting with the second use of the Cult Leader’s Blood of Mithras, if you would be sacrificed, the first time you will not die.
Flesh to Flesh (Day) - Choose 2 players. If one of them is attacked tonight by a non-cult member then you will attack the other. - 2 uses
Ancient Curse (Night) - Mark a player for death. If a player has two marks, you will learn their exact class. If a player has three marks, you will kill them bypassing everything. - Infinite uses**
Curse of Mithras (Night) - If the target is bled tomorrow, they will die in 1 night instead of 2 nights. - 1 use :crown:
Your objective is to defeat the Blue Dragon and the Corax Cult.

However, if you were converted from a Knight – your choices would be:

Knight Choice A

The Mithras Acolyte :crossed_swords:

Cult Killer
Spirit of Mithras (Passive) - Starting with the second use of the Cult Leader’s Blood of Mithras, if you would be sacrificed, the first time you will not die.
Armored (Passive) - Your first successful use of Defend will not kill you, if the attacker doesn’t die to Defend.
Defend (Night) - You will guard the target player tonight, giving your life to kill their attacker(s). - Infinite uses :crown:
Curse of Mithras (Night) - If the target is bled tomorrow, they will die in 1 night instead of 2 nights. - 1 use :crown:
Your objective is to defeat the Blue Dragon and the Corax Cult.

Knight Choice B

The Mithras Acolyte :crossed_swords:

Cult Killer
Spirit of Mithras (Passive) - Starting with the second use of the Cult Leader’s Blood of Mithras, if you would be sacrificed, the first time you will not die.
Lone Cultist (Night) - Kill a player. - 1 Use
Curse of Mithras (Night) - If the target is bled tomorrow, they will die in 1 night instead of 2 nights. - 1 use :crown:
Your objective is to defeat the Blue Dragon and the Corax Cult.

The Mithras Cabalist :crossed_swords:

Cult Special
Eldritch Concoction (Day) - Brew a potion to use at night with Apply Concoction. You may only brew each potion once. - 4 uses
Apply Concoction (Night) - Use the potion you have created with Eldritch Concoction. - 4 uses

  • Ceremonial Potion - If you are chosen for Blood of Mithras tonight, the Cult Leader may select an additional non-Cult player to kill.
  • Corrupt Potion - Occupy a player tonight.
  • Radiant Potion - Learn who a player visits, and who they are visited by.
  • Blood Potion - Heal a member of the Cult, as well as making them appear as a member of the Blue Dragon to investigations.

Your objective is to defeat the Blue Dragon and the Mithras Cult.

i think this is a bit more in line with the Corax one

nerfing the occupy in exchange for one use follow+track

The Tavernkeeper (Unofficial Class)

stuff here

Converts into The Mithras Invoker or The Corax Invoker.

Cult points: 2 - Each ability costs: Varies
1 Point Alts:
(Dose) Blood Daze (Day) - If target player attempts to use a day ability today, they will be forced to target themself with it. - 1 use
(Mix Rooms) Blood Portal (Night) - Target 2 players. Redirect all players targeting either of your targets to the other. You will be seen visiting your first target only. Can target self. - 2 uses
2 Point Alt:
(Serve Ale) Mithras’ Reflection (Night) - Target a player. Redirect all players targeting them back to themselves, bypassing redirection immunity. - 1 use

i think im pretty happy with the tavernkeeper alts

still not sure how i feel about cabalist

You think it might be too good or?

im not entirely sure

mithras has to brew their stuff which is susceptible to dayoccs, very minor point against them
i think voodoo doll is overall still better than ceremonial potion, as a cult healer will prevent the negative effects from both and the negative effect on the corax one also gives you another night to do actions and potentially get healed by a non-cult healer (unless we’re discussing starting cabalists; in which case the mithras one is better)
corrupt potion vs jinx is pretty obvious, one occupy is less than 2 :eyes: (although for fakeclaiming purposes, 1 occupy can be situationally better, i guess)
radiant potion is leagues stronger than jinx though
and blood potion is probably stronger than blood moon but they have slightly different uses

eh

when i think of it like this

i actually think it’s not too far apart

i think a starting mithras cabalist/N1 one might actually be too strong compared to the corax one when i consider this

blah

I think they are both fine.
The only argument is Mithras Cabalist being dayocced – you could modify it so you are day immune? Though I feel like it would be unnecessary.
Also I feel like power levels are pretty equal, even if it makes sense for Mithras Cabalist to be a bit more powerful since you know, Mithras Cult has to sacrifice to continue killing.

You have to either keep them in for a long time and risk them getting found out/killed, or you just sacrifice them right off the bat.
It’s probably okayish?

well my point being that the downside is mitigated by this

but thats fair

this is a change that puts a bit of a fork into the setup so i don’t think i’m going to respect it with regards to corax CL
