Sheriff and Paladin merge version 1

Holy Ward?

Holy Ward is better, but Bless is good too

Not really. Pretty sure I’ve said this before but it’s too close to the CW’s niche to be worthwhile. Hence why I’ve usually advocated for him to be BD Killer instead

But it’s hard to create an unique killer that doesn’t power creep an already existing class.

Got you covered

This power creeps cold steel though. Sure, there are times when you want to occupy without killing, but occupying and killing is always a better kill. The only advantage CS has is unlimited uses

That is a HUGE advantage

To deal with Scorned and Inquisitor you need at least 2 uses for example. And even if you didn’t there is always more than one neut and you might want to kill both. And even if there wasn’t there are almost always at least 2 non-MM unseen and finding one with a kill often means you are well on your way to finding the second

Yes there is a way to get more but Unlimited uses is a big advantage

1 Strike > 1 CS but 2 CS > 1 Strike

Also that is a thread that you can comment on. The fact that we could retheme it to be a Paladin is really a coincidence no matter what we come up with

Not really. Court Wizard would be for buffing other players, while Paladin would be for preventing negative effects(and maybe the old recharge could be given back to CW as a one-use day ability. I know that it’s confirmable, but that’s also why Bewilder should be able to target anyone(to prevent easy confirmation using day abilities). And there could be other limitations added to it, like it has no effect if target does not have any limited use abilities, or it could not go above the initial amount of uses)

In a game like this those are the same thing

How? Buffing means empowering others’ abilities. Preventing negative effects is more similar to Physician’s niche, except with effects instead of attacks

Right. In a game like this those are the same thing

And to further differentiate the two the current empower should be changed to the generic empower(though that should happen anyways)

I’m serious. Think about what empowers effects actually are (generic):

Preventing prevention’s
Preventing tampering (mind warp, frame ect)
Preventing occupy/redirect
Bypassing immunity’s

Note how those first 3 include literally every negative effect besides death

I agree with everything else, but the generic empower could be changed so it doesn’t include occupation/redirection

Well then it’s just a terrible ability. You are still trying to turn a single niche into 2 classes

And yes I know that death prevention already has 2 classes.

To that I say that death prevention is the most prevalent effect in the game
