The Resistance 0001 [Cancelled]

Welcome to The Resistance! (Also known as Avalon)

Summary

The Resistance is a social deception game in which the objective for the uninformed majority, the Resistance, is to see three(3) missions succeed while preventing the informed minority, the Imperials, from seeing three(3) missions fail. The game is played in 5 missions, each with a team agreed upon by the players. During the mission, the players must decide the outcome of the mission by choosing to either succeed or fail the mission. Failures should be deemed as suspicious as only Imperials can fail a mission.

Rules:

Gameplay:

  • This game will be nightless, but actions will still be submitted through direct messages.
  • Team selection will be 48 hours.
  • Voting and mission decisions will be 24 hours.
  • Discussion will be allowed at all times.

Team Selection:

  • At any point during discussion, the Leader may select a team by posting:

@cbman
/choose @Player_1 @Player_2 @Player_3 etc.
/confirm

  • If a selection is not made by the deadline, it will be considered a failed vote, and the next person will become Leader.
  • You may only reject four(4) teams without consequences. If a fifth team is rejected, the Imperials immediately win. This count resets every mission.
  • Uncasted team votes will be considered accepted.
  • Uncasted mission actions will be considered as a success.

Voting/Mission:

  • Everyone will vote after a team has been selected. When requested, respond in direct message with /accept or /reject.
    – Votes will be decided by majority.
    – Should a vote fail, the next Leader may select a team.
    – Should a vote pass, the team members will respond in direct message with either /succeed or /fail, when requested.

this is kinda like mindnight but i’m still joining this

It’s not an original game. Mindnight was based off of this. This is literally Mindnight, except it uses the expansion roles.

o cool

So can any evil fail the vote or only the spy. I don’t get it.

Any Imperial role can fail a mission. I will make that clear.

It’s a best of three.

If three missions fail spies win.
If three missions pass town wins unless assassin hits the right townie.

If a mission is all town it auto passes.
If a mission has a scum they can choose to fail a mission or pass it for cred/limited knowledge.

People use that information to narrow down scum.

Say mission 2 fails and it has three people: At least one of A B or C are a spy. Guaranteed.

Then mission 4 fails and it has A D and E.

If A is a spy then B and C don’t have to be. And you get into a lot of if then else

And who approved the failed mission bits

The idea is two fold if you’re town:

Find an all town block of a proper size and keep the person who knows the spies hidden from scum.

If you’re scum it’s to try to stop town cohesion and sow enough discord or to out the person who knows the spies.

Come on, you didnt sign me up for a game related to King Arthur

Did you wanna play? I can’t tell from that.

Yes

I did

This game will be Resistance flavored. I only added the Avalon role names for people more familiar with Avalon.
