thank you chloe very helpful

Okay, I mentioned I’d ISO Appel, so here’s my attempt.

Details

Appel went against Alice early on and even defended me or at least questioned Alice’s methods of reading me.

Here’s a mention of Derps, but not sure what to make of this. It looks like she’s more questioning Marshal and Alice for why they haven’t TR Derps so far.

Direct question to Derps in a way that looks like she’s trying to figure out his alignment.

She had Derps in what I think is null area alongside Eli and Marshal. Never interacts with Eli.

Later she continued to argue with Alice to the point of starting to SL her. Then started arguing with Luxy.

Derps has moved lower, though within a fairly large pool.

After a re-eval of a few people, she now TLs Derps. Seems a bit of a sudden turnaround, but might be possible with how confusing Derps can be.

Interacts with Derps about his read on Marshal and me.

Possible attempt to keep Vul pocketed. But reading Vul as town is entirely valid as well. Questions Kat about not TRing Vul.

Tries to switch the vote away from Derps onto Kat or me.

Though she does start to switch back.

Still wants Kat to be 1st lynch.

Back to thinking it’s Kat/Derps.

Conclusion

Early on Appel looks fairly good overall. She challenges Alice and Luxy on their reads. The move from SLing Derps to suddenly TLing him with no noticeable progression might be weird, but Derps can be hard to read at first. She never interacted with Eli.

However, later the quick switching between thinking Derps is wolf, then town, then wolf again is a bit concerning. She seems most certain on wanting to lynch Kat and was trying to get Vul to listen to her. Now, the EoD was certainly confusing, so entirely possible for town to be changing mind a lot. But I think Appel doesn’t look as towny as earlier, though I don’t think she’s risen above Kat in wolf equity.

Okay, Vulgard and then Appel later asked similar questions about why I didn’t do much a couple days ago. I’m not sure if they are both rhetorical questions or not, but I’ll go ahead and answer.

The main reason I didn’t post as much 2 days ago was because my day ended up being busier than expected. The secondary reason was that I felt the situation had pretty much already been decided for the next step. Derps was going to be the lynch but we were going to wait until the next day. The likely wolf team was Derps/Kat-Esq, though we’d have the next day cycle to continue the discussion.

As a side to better explain myself in general, I’m the type of person who doesn’t really feel comfortable with needless chatter, so I tend to limit what I say to what’s necessary or helpful. Yes, I know that’s not so good with these social deduction games. That’s actually part of the reason I’m pushing myself to play them. I know it would be wise to learn such skills as reading people, making coherent arguments, socializing, and such. So even though it is often stressful for me playing, I’ve decided I want to keep going. And so while often these criticisms of my play hurt, they aren’t all unwelcome since I need to hear them in order to eventually improve.

Yesterday I actually happened upon an old thread here about emotional stress in FoL. That was actually comforting to read through and see that others were having similar feelings as me. This game can indeed be highly stressful for some people.

Analysis of NK options from each wolf pov.

Details

W!Vulgard
Appel: TR Vul, but expected kill
Leafia: pretty much TR Vul, also possible ML to leave around
Kat: only person really suspecting Vulgard, but killing him outright would draw suspicion
Whysper: easy ML, not suspecting Vul

So best NK for W!Vulgard would have been Appel.

W!Appel
Leafia: wasn’t really suspecting Appel, also possible ML to leave around
Kat: focused on Vulgard, but also mentioned Appel as possible wolf, killing him might draw suspicion, though more likely to point to Vulgard
Vulgard: pocketed by Appel, but expected kill
Whysper: easy ML, not suspecting Appel

So better NK options for W!Appel would probably be either Kat or Vul, but Leafia still possibility.

W!Kat
Appel: SR Kat, also expected kill
Leafia: SR Kat, also possible ML to leave around
Vulgard: somewhat undecided between Kat and Whys, but expected kill
Whysper: easy ML, but suspecting Kat

So while NK options for W!Kat could be any of Appel, Leafia, or Vul, Leafia would cause confusion and widen POE to include Appel and Vul. Killing either Appel or Vul leaves the remaining town mostly suspecting Kat.

W!Whysper
Appel: SR Kat, also expected kill
Kat: most likely counter wagon
Leafia: SR Kat, also possible ML to leave around
Vulgard: somewhat undecided between Kat and Whys, but expected kill

So best NK for W!Whysper would have been Vul.

Conclusion

The NK kill of Leafia really makes the most sense for W!Kat, with a slight possibility for W!Appel.

Actually I love Skillet and I listen to “Whispers in the Dark” often. Haha. Though I prefer their “Feel Invincible”. :grinning:

I’d rather not have to resort to this.
